Makeup is more than surface level to me. Makeup is a form of self expression. It’s a way to enhance or transform your already beautiful features. Makeup tells a story. Your story. Our story. To me, makeup isn’t about hiding or covering up; it’s about showing off and showing up, in an authentic way. There’s makeup for your every mood, every occasion, and every era of your life. You decide who you want to be, how you want to look, with no limits or bounds. There’s no wrong way to be you. I am here to help you bring out & execute whatever version of YOU, you want to be today.
ABOUT YOUR MAKE-UP ARTIST
My name is Merilyn Garcia. I’m a Pisces sun, Leo moon who literally lives and breathes the arts (if you couldn’t tell by those placements 😉). I’ve been into music, theatre, and performing since a young age. The stage & music have always been my first love. It is through exploring these art forms that I discovered my passion for makeup & the beauty industry as well. I first started practicing makeup in 2012 and began doing makeup for my high school’s musicals in 2014. Most of my initial knowledge of makeup I learned from watching my mother, who was a cosmetologist for many years, and from YouTube videos. My first paying client was in 2015. I started working for NYX Cosmetics shortly after that. After being at NYX for a year, I moved on to advance my artistry & started working for MAC Cosmetics. Now, I am a full-time makeup, lash artist, and creative director. Since then I’ve had my work published in magazines, have had the opportunity to work with celebrity clients, and have collaborated on various notable creative projects/photoshoots. I’m in love with what I do. I love being able to create literal art on so many beautiful muses. I love making people feel more confident, more powerful. I love being able to create a safe space and relief through art and self expression. My goal is to keep inspiring others to follow their creative dreams, be their most authentic self & radiate love.
